Can confirm on Minecraft 1.8.1 and Launcher version 1.6.11:
I have the same problem, thought first it was my NAS but seeing this report it is identical to my problem. (NAS works fine otherwise)
I've tried Symlink, Minecraft Portable application, modded, vanilla, all the same. However, using symlink i managed to make it unpack, but at an incredibly slow speed (link 15kB/s) and after unpack the game would not launch (probably due to the slow transfer speed).
Using the Minecraft portable application (which unpacks directly to the NAS and not via symlink) It stopped when the launchar.jar reached 274KB. I've tried Java 7 and latest Java 8 (2015-02-02).
Using Windows 8.1 Pro x64,Laptop, Intel i7 Ivy Bridge, Nvidia Kepler, 8GB DDR3 RAM.
However, using resourcepacks and saves on the Network drive works fine, it seems only be related to Unpacking and launching the game itself.
So I'm unable to receive assistant because Im playing an outdated version?
Where would I find a supported version in which I can get the 1.8 versionS of the game to work.
I'd love to play 1.8.8, but I cant even launch that.
Its now explaining to me that I must agree to the Eula, which there is no directions on how to do so on a Mac.
I've updated Java, reinstalled Minecraft and Java, deleted all mods, and still am unable to launch 1.8.9.
The helper suggested something I just don't understand.
Well?
My goal is to launch 1.8.9. I cant even download the server for it, therefore there is something wrong Im assuming lol.
I'm trying to run 1.8.9 on mac, latest snapshot is some other version. I can launch every other version except 1.8.9
A link would be much appreciated
Ive downloaded the most recent version from their website, still not understanding how to update to the newest version
Ive updated Java to the most current version and yet still cannot get it launch. "unexpected game crash".
Oh ok sorry
