I experienced the same thing. i was sleeping afk on switch while my cousin was playing. suddenly the game crashed.

Loading the world would cause this (leave bed) (open chat) screen to appear. The background was back and a few seconds later a lot of GUI screens appeared followed by a game crash.

I tried tp out of bed, kill my self, change the day time and a lot of commands but didn't work. Then i tried to learn about what was happening.

At the end of the investigation i learned: that the Day time was normal (it was day time), oddly enough the respawnpoint set message kept going (you wrote something and the message goes up and the respawnpoin set kept coming)  but by teleporting out of it would stop this but not the crash. That writing, every time you send a text message or something its another layer of GUI (1st text=the loading resource packs GUI, 2nd text= The world selector GUI, 3rd text= the title screen). After the title screen appears you cannot do anything else because the game uses the controllers selector in the title screen and not the chat. After all that mess i got to the home screen of the switch and closed the app. What is odd is that it didn't crash as expected but closed successfully. Then i thought "what if its a rendering issue" after all the first GUI screen to appear after the first chat message was the "loading resource packs" screen. So at the end i loaded the Mario resource pack, opened the world and waited. And at the end it worked. The world opened as the Mario texture pack and finally got free of the crash.

Sorry if the explanation was too long but this investigation may be useful. So load the Mario resource pack, open your world, save it, exit, remove the Mario resource pack and hope that your world opens. That's all thanks.
