Same thing happened here, except they were not leashed or named but enclosed in a pen.
Still affects version 1.2.6
Servers have a set render distance so they can support high numbers of players. The same applies to realms.
It sounds like your saves are not syncing to the cloud. I have experienced this as well.
I have had this issue with other items in the games but on mineplex
I had this similar issue and I resolved it by power-cycling my console... Hold the power button (on the console) for 10 seconds until the console turns off. Then turn it back on and try again.
I also have this issue. In addition to this, the friends tab shows up completely blank preventing the ability to join a realm. Like the reporter, I have current Xbox Live Gold subscriptions and occurs on the Xbox One version.
