This happens with all mobs, but if you use the carpet bug to hop fences, baby chickens can get stuck underneath of them, regardless of baiting with seeds. This may be a related issue, if the chicks underneath the carpet age.
This is indicator for something missing a texture. Sometimes signing in and out of your account is required to fix it.
Try signing out of your account and signing back in. Resetting Minecraft’s Cache in settings may also help.

Minecraft has nothing to do with add-ons and can do nothing about someone else's programming not working or being compatible with others or new updates. Please do not post bug reports about mods as it wastes time, and it's specifically against the rules.
