I went to the desert to collect lava by drying wet sponges. During this process, I left the chunk where the villagers were located and also entered the Nether portal.
Regarding the disappearance of pets, I noticed that pets I tamed a long time ago (possibly from several versions ago) tend to disappear more frequently, while newly tamed pets don’t seem to have this issue as much.
