World is a year old world on a public server

when u place a torch on the patches IT DOES NOT WORK u  have to break a block within it. Now if you have a torch there and u log in and the torch is within a patch u have to break torch and put it back on it's like the light doesn't give off just within the block the torch is on. 

My world is the updated one will try a new world see if it happens.

sorry i don't know how to tag but hope u see this. I don't think i have corrected it i just know when it first happened i didn't know what was wrong so i broke a block and it went away. I continued doing that but it was up a mountain and just did it around my builds. After a couple days it happened in another part of my world which is in one of the pics i posted and i noticed the torches not given off the light so i would break it and put it back and it lighted up the patches. For the most part i ignore it because they are off away from whatever i'm doing and when i log out and come back it goes away. 

I haven't noticed if the patches are coming back in the same spots i just basically ignore them or just log in and out and if logging in and out doesn't work i just do the breaking the block bit if it is in my way or within my buildings. 

This happens more when i just log into the game. I get black patches if i go to it and break a block within the patch it goes away. Now if there is a torch or light source within it the light only lights up the block it is on, if I break the lighting source the black patch goes away. If i log out of the game and come back in then the patches aren't there but if I fly a little bit down from where they were then they show up on another part of the world.

This happens for me as well if i go to it and break a block within the dark patch it goes away. If a torch is within the black area it only gives light within the block it's put on but if i break it the black spots go away. I log  out and log in and it goes away unless i fly to another part of the world that isn't far and they are there as well
