If you bred them in a snow biome this is intended behavior.
Can confirm in 1.17.1 pre-1, also on a Macbook Pro on the same OS, 13 inch (2019) with 2.4 GHz quad-core intel core i5.
Confirmed in 1.16.1 on seed -350501890505856 near -323 85 -1315 in biome "mushroom_field_shore"
Are you mining the ender chest with the Silk Touch enchantment? Ender chests do not drop as an item with an unenchanted pick.
Still happening for me in pre-8.
I'm having trouble reproducing this. Are there any steps I can take to make this behavior more likely?
Confirmed for 1.13 pre-7.
Able to reproduce. Chickens need to be following you beforehand and that can't be "broken" (i.e. by switching off seeds and then back to them once in position) for the chicken to continue attempting to jump over. Helps if looking at the slab block or being 1 block above chickens while trying to recreate but is possible without.
Tested this and it appears to still be an issue for 1.13-pre7
Issue valid for current version of Minecraft (cannot find a way to change the "affects versions:" section)
Affects all versions; including latest snapshot, at least for me.
I have also had this issue for trying to run the game on OSX El Capitan 10.11.2. I tried re-downloading the ,dmg, updating my java, and playing on non-snapshots and still receive the same error message. I hope this issue can be quickly resolved so (at least some) Mac users can resume play.
I had a problem just gliding over the monument in a boat. That crashed my game after a weird (probably guardian) sound occurred.
I wish this would get more attention. Seems pretty significant to me.
Just tested this in the new snapshot- I can happily say I no longer hate the barrier blocks. 😃
Do you know your realm seed? Was the world created/played in before 1.17? Are you searching in chunks you hadn't explored before the update?
