the main problem here seems to be the auto "time of day" music, right? perhaps there should be a setting in options to disable that, so it won't interrupt other musics playing in the area. i might also recommend an option to disable the auto "Menu Music" that plays the title menu music when you "pause" or linger in the menu system without doing anything for a bit. it may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but if you need to pause to reference "out-of-game" material, it can get annoying, especially if you unpause and then re-pause again. another thought: on my Android phone, it has several volume settings, too, and you can individually adjust music, ringtone, system sounds, and notifications separately, just like in Minecraft. however, it also has (for better or worse) only a SINGLE FEED for each option, so if you are playing music from one app, then switch to another and start playing there, the new app overrides the old one, for however long a stream is coming from it. likewise, if i am playing music, and decide to check my voice messages, it knows to pause the music until there are no messages being played, because it plays the voice messages on the Music feed. system sounds/sound effects still play over top of other music/phone calls, because they are typically just quick blips, but notifications will cause the phone to lower the volume (for no more than a second), so that they are noticed.
there are also priorities. if music is playing and the phone receives a call, the ringtone feed will override the music feed.
it seems like an ideal solution to me, if it can be done using paulscode...
