I am in trouble with the same issue.
When I tried to ride a horse, if there are other horses in front of the horse, I will punch that horse.
When I tried to ride a horse with a shovel, if there was a grass block in front of the horse, I would turn it into a road.
I am playing in touch mode with android 8.0 ,ver.1.9.0.

In my case it happens sometimes, not always.
The same problem is happening to me.
After restarting the game, it starts on the roof of the place where the game was saved.
When i save the game in an underground facility, i restart from the ground or restart from the bottom of the lake.
Restart at the surface (top of y axis) at the saved coordinates (x, z).
This issue has happened frequently from before, but seems to have increased since ver.1.9.0 update.
