The only workaround I could find for this is turning the world into a Realm. I honestly believe this is the only way to get around this error until they patch it. Another plus is that you, and anyone you invite to the Realm, can download the world at anytime. So if you don’t plan on renewing your Realms subscription and have Minecraft Bedrock edition on any other platforms, I suggest you login with the same account, click on the realm, and download the world (before it expires so you have as much progress saved). If you don’t, then have one of your friends do it!

I’m getting the exact same issue here on PS5. I’ve noticed that it’s mostly commonly on PS4/PS5 and usually occurs when the world hits ~953.1 MB (I’ve seen this exact number used in several instances).

I can still access the world sometimes and walk around, but once I make one change to the world (e.g. placing a single block), it’s unable to save these changes, and boots me off with the “out of data storage space” error.

I don’t see how this isn’t a priority for them to fix immediately. It quite literally makes the game unplayable. This report was opened 3 years ago. For those of you with this same issue, hang in there. It’s going to be a long time coming, if ever.
