Amazon Kindle Fire for kids. The following solution worked.

  1. I had less than 1GB free total space. That was not enough for the system and therefore contributing to the problem. I needed to add an SD card (note: Kindle requires a certain speed and recommended XC I), format it, and move data or apps onto it (I moved data) to free up space.

  2. Upgrade to the latest version of Minecraft (currently 1.19.51). Do this from the parent account as kids account doesn't have permissions. Go to Appstore, search for Minecraft. Click on the Minecraft icon and not the "open" button. Then upgrade.

  3. Log back into the kids account, launch Minecraft, go into Settings -> Storage -> Clear Marketplace Cache.

  4. Important! Restart device.

  5. Log back into the kids account, launch Minecraft, go into Marketplace and find item(s) you were trying to download. They should be downloadable now.

@Mega_Spud,

I encountered this problem on my kid's Amazon Fire Kindle. He used his mine coins to pay for a world and now it won't download. Given he is prevented from downloading the world due to this bug, how do I get him a refund of his mine coins?

We cannot address any account-related issues via the bug tracker. You would need to contact Minecraft Support for that.
