are you in flowing lava in the third picture? Because you can see through flowing lava but not solid lava.

When I do that in creative, the suffocation screen is on my computer . I think that the player does not count as a confirmed block and then that happens.

Don't villagers share seeds and wheat?

Remember that sometimes that all mobs can break Leads because if you tow a mob with a lead to fast it will break.
