An Iron golem tied to a post will break the lead to attack a hostile mob.
What I expected:
tying an iron golem to a post so it doesn't wander off and get lost
What happened:
The Iron golem broke the lead to reach a spider just out of the leads reach.
How to recreate:
Tie an iron golem to a post, put a hostile mob next to the golem, and the iron golem breaks the lead.
Tested only in 14w04b.
Edit-14w05b and 14w06b now tested and confirmed

i understand that, but the fact that the Iron golem breaks the lead on its own nullifies the purpose of using it.
I don't think this is solved. I have tethered golems. They frequently get away. I'm in Minecraft 1.7.5
If you are trying to recreate the issue, tether a golem, exit the game (single player) and return. Does the tether graphic still appear? (mine does not) If the golem loses sight of it's hitching point does the golem break the tether? (sometimes mine break the tether by going around a corner). If you re-enter a game, and the tether graphic does not appear, when you break the tether's tie up point, does the tether disappear and fail to drop on the ground and/or fail re-enter your inventory? (I've lost many a lead this way).
If golems break away because they are big and strong, that's fine. Do golems stay tethered forever, or are they prone to break free?
This is again an issue as of 15w44a. The lead breaks instantly when tying the IronGolem to a fence post.
Remember that sometimes that all mobs can break Leads because if you tow a mob with a lead to fast it will break.
