Have also encountered the same bug frequently, but have never eaten something when it occured. One thing that could be related to this is the gamerule "doimmediaterespawn" {{}}}}which has always been set to "{{{}true" while the bug has occurred for me. @MLGIRX Can you check if this is also true for your world?
