When you die while you are in the process of eating there is a CHANCE that you will be locked out of your game on the death screen. This bug is hard to replicate as it won't always happen. Once it does happen you are locked on the death screen and the only ways to escape are to close and restart your game or have a friend /kill you. It is important to note that this hasn't only happened from eating. This bug can randomly happen from other reasons too. This bug has happened on single and multi-player.

As I said this bug doesn't always happen and is quite difficult to replicate. I don't know the full details about this bug. I think that only eating enchanted and golden apples will cause this bug as I haven't been able to make it happen while eating other foods. In the video I was killed by a mob and in the screenshot, I was playing a pvp world and killed by another player. I am not sure if the bug can happen from dying from something else as I haven't tested it. I have found other variants of this bug were instead of getting locked out of your game you become immortal and can't get hit or you get locked in place unable to do anything besides chat. Again, I don't know the full details about this bug and the bug itself happens very randomly and is hard to replicate.
Have also encountered the same bug frequently, but have never eaten something when it occured.
One thing that could be related to this is the gamerule "doimmediaterespawn" {{}}}}which has always been set to "{{{}true" while the bug has occurred for me.

I haven't seen it happen on the most recent version anymore, but i used to get this all the time, even when not eating food.
Also doimmediaterespawn didn't have to be on when it happened to me.
It also happens when you use cheat engine to teleport an extremely long distance and die of suffocation.

Could you explain further what you are using to replicate this issue? Does the character eat the same type of food during dying?
Does the character have to die in a certain way?
What other random things can happen during dying?
