I signed up just to say—same here. Like others have mentioned, this issue seems to happen more often during autosaves and especially in villages. Strangely, it’s worse in villages with lots of Acacia buildings for me.
I’m at the point where it’s making me want to quit the game, even though I just started playing this year. The problem is, I KEEP DYING because of it. The first few times, everything froze except for me, and then a creeper or something else would kill me without any warning. So, I tried to outsmart it by stacking blocks when I noticed the freeze, thinking nothing could reach me. But, when it unfroze, the blocks disappeared, and I fell to my death. What a way to go! I should have known I wasn't really standing on cobblestone.
Also I've had cases where the freeze occurs while I'm on a horse, and I cannot get off of the horse, even after the freeze subsides... I still can't get off the horse. I ran around all night on that horse, but later realized, by jumping in water I'd break the cycle.
Like others have said, I know I'm frozen first when things stop making noise... doors, chests opening, etc... then I'll notice mobs not moving. Then if I try to enter my inventory, it doesn't respond. What's weird about it is everything stops, but you can continue moving, so normally I just try to get inside of a house and pray when I hit close door, it actually closed, then I wait literally like 3-5 minutes.
