Search "Terminal" in your mac. open it. place the minecraft.jar(https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/launcher/minecraft.jar) on your desktop.
And type the following inside the terminal:
"cd Desktop" followed by an enter.
"java -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame" again, followed by an enter.
now, if you have an error, it should appear on the terminal.
P.D.cough update java cough
Why did you even buy minecraft if it doesn't work? People really need to learn to try the demo before buying...
That's what i meant...
Kumasasa: Please wait until the creator of this ticket tells us what button he is talking about.
Vincent Wiltschek: post that as a comment on the original ticket. don't create new ones
Anon Ymus: i think he means the right-click as he states it will no longer place blocks.
Sorry for reviving a closed ticket!
Kumasasa: he probably expected it should give him 9 quartz. just like diamond and all the other "compressed" blocks
expand the summary: tell us what you mean by: "Not appearing", tell us how to recreate the bug, and give a couple of screenshots.
BTW: If you mean that when you place nether quartz stairs while in version 13w02b and then go back to 1.4.6/7 and they disappear, that "works as intended"
Alvin Wong: i just checked it. what you say is true. It causes a little bit of confusion though cause the speed limit is very low. Close this ticket.
My theory:
In the previous versions you just burned to death, the fireball did no damage. Now in this version the fireball does damage and they forgot to translate the class name into human languages.
How to fix:
Just add "entity.SmallFireball.name=Fireball" into the "minecraft.jar/lang/en_US.lang" file (if using another language add it to that langage's file). Oh yeah, don't forget to remove the META-INF folder... (silly java and its checksums)
Change gamemode to None (it has no effect to a specific gamemode) and put your OS (windows, linux, mac), architecture (32 bit,64 bit, powerpc), graphics card (important as this is a graphics error)(ex: nvidia optimus 540m, intel HD xxx, etc), and the java version under: "Envorionment"
i just ask because it can be an error with one of those.
not fixed for me (linux 64 bit, java JDK 7 update 10, minecraft 13w12b)
epic facepalm yes, markku is right.
