Hi, the problem appears to be resolved as of today! At least on my son's iPad, downloads are no longer stuck at 0.

cheers,

-Mark

@unknown: Your steps don't mention that you exited Minecraft and restarted immediately after clearing the Marketplace cache. This step is crucial. If you skipped it, could you please try again and let us know if it solves your problem?

I'm asking this because the only known cases of this bug recurring are on Nintendo Switch and Amazon Fire. We think it's been fixed for other platforms, but once a download gets stuck, it stays stuck until the workaround steps are correctly performed. We had a different ticket for tracking it on Switch, and we're considering whether we can make this one specifically for Fire, but if the workaround doesn't solve your problem we know there's still an issue on iOS at least.

Thanks for the clarification. That was my mistake in typing out my steps, but just to be sure, I tried again:

1. clear marketplace cache
2. kill minecraft
3. restart ipad
4. open minecraft
5. navigate to "my content"
6. click angry birds
7. click download button

Same result. I also sometimes see this error:

However, restarting Minecraft usually fixes the problem.

The download still becomes stuck. I have also tried on a different network (my phone's hotspot) in case it's a local network problem – I have a pihole filtered DNS - but I also tried with the local DNS on my son's iPad set to 8.8.8.8 (google's public DNS). Same problem on my hotspot and on google DNS.

My son just told me that he's actually had this problem for a long time - he has purchased several content packs that he's been unable to use. I wasn't aware of that until just now.

Just to be sure, I went through the same steps again (except for restarting his iPad):

1. clear marketplace cache
2. kill minecraft
3. open minecraft
4. navigate to "my content"
5. click angry birds
6. click download button

I know the cache was cleared because it took some time for marketplace to update, his character initially showed up as alex, and the angry birds content wasn't visible in "my content". After about 30 seconds his custom character appearance was back, and marketplace showed all of his purchases. I left it sitting on the download for a few minutes - it never advanced from 0.00MB.

I'm a software developer (I used to work for Unity) so I'm happy to engage more closely on this problem in order to help you understand the root cause.

Hi, I'm still having this issue with my son's iPad. I've tried logging in and out of app store, logging in and out of microsoft account, updating ipad to latest ios, restarting ipad, clearing marketplace cache - nothing works. I don't want to reinstall minecraft and risk him losing his worlds.

Here's the screenshot:

Repro steps:

1. clear marketplace cache

2. navigate to my content

3. click angry birds

4. click download button

expected result: download progress bar appears and advances

actual result: download progress bar stays at zero. closing the dialog (by clicking the x at top left) brings me back to the content page (included screenshot).
