This is not resolved issue.
This is still affecting current version 1.21.81, only with UI profile “Pocket”, not “Classic”.
Still gotta resort to throwing items out or filling up my hotbar completely in creative, which is a pain.
I can confirm it for 1.21.4.
On 1.18.12 the removed chunks came back but the world is now infinite which cannot be changed. I don’t really like that but at least I now have my world back.
Hey Jess the issue exists in singleplayer. I am going to uninstall mc and reinstall mc now. Thanks for the idea though 🙂

Villagers are despawning all the time on our server. We've also had horses and chickens disappear, but that's not really a big deal. The villagers, however... grrrrr.
I see all these bug reports from other people, and that they are marked 'resolved'. This problem is definitely not resolved.
This problem is not resolved. We are having villagers disappear too. It's very time and resource consuming to level up a villager's trades, and we had some really good ones selling silk touch or mending books, as an example. Just gone. poof. Tried reverting to last save, still gone.
I'm having this problem too! I can barely move in my village.
We're having the same issue on our server as of today. This bug is not resolved.
