Items can’t be moved from creative inventory to player inventory

Description:

After the most recent update, items in the creative inventory automatically deselect when a player clicks on one of the category tabs using touch controls. This prevent items from being placed in a player’s inventory without moving them to the hotbar first, and items can not be returned to the creative inventory to get rid of them without moving them down to the hotbar first. Items should stay selected whenever one of the side tabs is clicked like they used to.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Open the creative inventory

  2. Click on an item

  3. Select the chest tab that leads to a blank inventory

  4. Try to place the item into your inventory

  5. Notice that the item is no longer selected, and therefore it is not placed into the inventory

Expected Result: The item is moved into the slot that you selected

Or

  1. Open the creative inventory

  2. Click on an item in your hotbar

  3. Click on one of the side tabs

  4. Notice that the item was automatically deselected

Expected Result: The item should stay selected unless you click on it a second time

Actually i think this should be a feature you can toggle. might be helpfull

But I’m used to the other way since it’s been like that forever. I don’t want to have to move everything twice.

I can't think of any way this would be a feature. It's hugely annoying when trying to design and test storage or autocrafter builds. You have to move things out of your hotbar, then put new things into your hotbar, and then swap those things with the other items you moved out, just to get items into inventory while keeping your hotbar lineup. A process that used to take 3 taps now takes 9 taps.

It's just SO annoying. Bundles are a GREAT temporary solution, but since they can only fit one stack, you have to MANUALLY make it into one item if you wanted 64 different items in your bundle (stackable items only) or depending on how much, if you wanted 16 different items for instance, you would have to reduce each stack to 4 blocks before putting it in the bundle

@blueforce926 why would this be useful?

I have this issue too.
I see you were unable to post a video, I hope this one helps: yt.be/MC_invetory_bug
(*Device: HONOR X7b MagicOS 8.0, Android 14, Minecraft Bedrock Edition, Version 1.21.51)

This is still affecting current version 1.21.81, only with UI profile “Pocket”, not “Classic”.

Still gotta resort to throwing items out or filling up my hotbar completely in creative, which is a pain.

This is not resolved issue.

I just updated my game, and this issue is back again.
