I think I have the same issue. After I started playing on 1.17.1 Minecraft started to lag more and if I play for too long crash with OutOfMemoryException error and sometimes even crashing my video drivers. This didn't happen to me on 1.16.5 and earlier versions and doesn't happen in other games. _(Sorry for my poor English)_
