As these two images show: The bug is not resolved and is still there in 15w31c.
Not shure if anyone watches this issue any more or if I would have to create a new (duplicate) issue...
The PC version of MC does have the same problem (actually for wuite a while now).
I have used 15w31b and 15w31c with the seed -1095906994 on coords -1015, 64, -333.

The trapped chest should get a christmas cover as well since it would stick out on any map played on christmas.
Since the chest and trapped chest texture are similar, but not the same this could also be done for the christmas chest and make eg. the red a little bit different or get another buckle or something like that
