This has happened to my Samsung Galaxy Tab A as well. I keep getting the white splash screen as per above image and I have tried uninstalling and deleting the apps storage data and clearing the cache and I still can't get past the white screen with the Minecraft logo. I have tried reinstalling and nothing works.
