This isn't a request for a new feature. A bug can be defined as a mistake or error in a computer program, there is a very clear intention to have the old villager textures in the resource pack.
The old textures are already in the resource pack; I tried extracting the "Programmer Art" resource pack from the game files and noticed the old villager textures existed there.
However, the textures are improperly configured for the 1.14 village update, they follow another naming system. A simple fix could be performed like so:
[media][media]I could successfully duplicate and rename the texture files to get them working.
The textures are in the resource pack already, so why aren't they in use?
[media]Shouldn't the villagers have the textures they had prior to 1.14 in the programmer art resource pack?
The old villager textures do apparently exist in the Programmer art resource pack.
[media]They are, however configured to work with pre-1.14 villagers, which kind of defeats the point of having the pack in 1.14+
This could be simply fixed by having the biome variant pngs completely transparent, and duplicating and renaming some of the old textures (possibly removing the hoods).
