The husks I spawned in were not holding any items, but were summoned in. I stumbled upon the bug while using Fabric and decided to test it on a vanilla dedicated server downloaded from the link the Minecraft launcher gave me.
Still happens in 1.16-pre2 (seed: -5870226273086213037, location: -1200 64 2500)
Oh my goodness. I totally didn't and yes, it works fine. My bad.
