Playing on a server with version 20w21a, I'm experiencing the same issue.

When unlocking the woodland explorer map, the server lags a lot (dozens of seconds) and sometimes gets killed by the watchdog.

Please tell us what to need to investigate and implement a fix for this.

How do you "optimize" the world on a server ?

This is the third most voted bug and has been reported over two years ago and is still not fixed. It is really annoying. It seems that voting for a bug to be fixed doesn't matter at all in prioritizing the work ?

 

For other players: a decent workaround is to put your cursor at the end which is the case when you rename something in the anvil. Then press Shift+Begin (the arrow above end key), it will behave as a ctrl+a for a single line of text. Still better than nothing.

ALso happens when pressing enter key on the second page and the following pages

If it might help, I've noticed that setting a spawnpoint in a bed placed by a player doesn't work, as decribed in the issue. However setting a spawnpoint with a generated bed in a village actually works. So i guess the bug might have been introduced when working on the generated beds for the new village structures, beds weren't generated before, so the respawn code might have been altered in a wrong way.
