yes... this was a new world made in vanilla, made before optifine for 1.16(the world was), i never join the world with optifine because i only really use optifine on servers and then survival worlds, this was a creative test world

 

no, pure vannila.

 

put a trapdoor above you in the top half of the second block up so its in the same space as your head, then place a carpet infront of you and you should not be able to get through with out shifting

 

does the exported format support transparencey?

make sure its 7k away from explored areas in over world

make sure you are using the correct language setting in settings

carpets have a hit box so if the hit box of the mob is larger than the space - the carpet hitbox then its the same as walking onto a slab, the hit box is different however

also if you shift then you should be able to get through

thats more a bug with windows i would say as i get the same thing with other applications

 

is your hard drive full? go into the minecraft saves folder and see if there are any backups there

the slimes spawn in only dark patches, make sure all blocks are lit up, also watch tutorials for a redstone door
