[MC-100405] ender dragon wont spawn!

when placing the end crystals on the portal in order to respawn the ender dragon nothing hapens, even though i placed them in the right order.

1. In which version was this world created?
2. Have you killed the dragon in 1.9 before?
3. If the world was created before 1.9, have you visited the dragon before updating to 1.9?
