I think that fish is not the creature itself, I think the fish is more like something in the polar bear's inventory (though this is not technically true, I get the idea that the fish drop meant to convey this). If it is in their inventory, it would make less sense for it to be cooked.

However, I like the idea of the fish being cooked if a polar bear falls in lava. Just because I am holding a fish doesn't mean it can't get hot. There should maybe be a chance that the fish is cooked, but not always.

What do you think of that?
