Woodland Mansion spawns next to lava and burns down

The Woodland Mansion spawns in contact with lava and burns down. Not a bug as such but disappointing on a SP map.
Perhaps lava should be removed from the area around a mansion.
Tested with 16w41a on my SP world and 16w43a with the same result.

I have seen this on another seed as well. I've only created a few maps so maybe this is common?

Confirm this is an issue and should not be tagged as resolved. Who wants to explore 20,000 blocks in survival mode only to find the mansion in flames? That is what happened to me. Defeats the whole purpose.

I would recommend gamerule doFireTick false. I had 2 out of 3 burn to the ground in my current world, so I changed the game rule and deleted the region files to regen.

I've experienced and can confirm the same problem with the latest snapshot (16w44a). The mansion generates on the edge of a Roofed Forest biome and an Extreme Hills biome, in contact with lava underneath, which starts to slowly burn down the mansion. There is also gravel and stone from the Extreme Hills biome that ends up inside the mansion. Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to fix this issue, even if Mojang does not consider it to be a bug. The seed I'm using is -5689158517226401472, and the mansion coordinates are 4310 -10741.

The room "1x2_a3" aka the "Blacksmith room" spawns with two lava blocks in the corner and on the first mansion I played it resulted in the whole thing burning down.
That's horribly disappointing for 25km of traveling.
I think it should either be replaced with something else or appropriately protected like the lava in "2x2_s1" aka the "Lava room".

Me too, I traveled thousands of blocks and before I was ready to enter. It burn down from lava. So sad 😞

If this issue is never resolved, here is a work around if you are able to change your gamemode and gamerules on your server. Luckily I was playing on Realms and could rollback the server a few minutes and re-approach the Mansion.

To stop fires from starting/spreading: Before approaching a mansion type /gamerule DoFireTick false

Switch to Spectator Mode /gamemode 3

Now you are free to fly below the mansion and all area the edges to check for lava. Switch to Creative Mode, /gamemode 1 and remove the lava.

Mojang, please reconsider this as an unresolved bug. I just ran 20k blocks and was wondering why my game FPS dropped so much. There were two lava pools under the mansion. No way to stop it without modifying game rules.

I had the same thing happen to me. Survival mode, arrived at the mansion finally, and it's burning to the ground. Found a lava pocket directly under where the floor used to be. This was super disappointing, it definitely needs to be fixed.

I would suggest that this be revisited in light of the new Advancements system. One of the advancements requires that you kill an evoker and a vindicator and having the mansion burn down before you can get to them makes the advancement significantly more random and difficult to obtain.

I agree, but how does one even get this issue revisited? Seeing as it's marked as "Resolved" and "Works As Intended", who is going to see these comments and be able to get it reopened?

This should be placed as a suggestion on reddit. This isn't a bug, but instead a fantastic suggestion.
