Only white wool blocks can be recolored. I expect any wool block should be re-dyeble regardless of color because it's possible to re-dye sheep and leather armor of any color.

Possibly make it to where you have to recolor it white before you can change it to a different color?
It would be cool to kind of implement the leather armor dying system into wool blocks! 🙂
yeah you could use a cauldron to make the wool white again, then die it another colour, exactly the same as leather armour.
Or even better, you should be able to dye it any color. Like minecraft would just take the white wool and use that and a custom color like how the biome colors work. and mixing the dyes could give you an in between color, like dark red from red and black. Or a very light blue from 3 bone meals and one lapis.
... not consistent with the behavior intended by the developers ...
If Grum said it is intended, then it's not a bug per definitionem.
It's not consistent with the behavior of the related items as well!
Why is this being so hard to get changed? I know that the solution is simple, and it'd make people's Minecraft-lives easier.
There is literally no reason for it to exist as is currently stands (Because it sounds like a bug right now)!
Even that this is considered WAI, should not be, in Bedrock Version is possible to dye Wool and Beds from any color to any other one.
