Upward bubble columns created with soul sand show inconsistent flow speed of items compared to other entities: Items rise about twice as fast as in normal water, while other entities like players, mobs or xp orbs shoot up pretty fast. This inconsistency makes item elevators kinda slow, while everything else can be transported upwards very fast.
Downward bubble columns made with magma blocks still drop everything, including items, very fast and therefore work consistently.

I REEEALLY hope this is a bug.

Can confirm, it wasn't listed in the changes of 18w07b while it worked fine in 18w07a.

Works as intended? @Dinnerbone, could you at least give any reason behind why items are supposed to be extra slow compared to other entities in bubble column elevators?
Right now it takes about a minute to transport items from bedrock level up to a surface base, it would at least make sense to make them 2x or 4x as fast.

Just noticed it works consistently now in 18w20b, which is great 🙂
Might be marked as "Fixed" instead now?
Can confirm.
