The bug
There is a shipwreck below the ground but not below the ocean. It's weird because normally shipwrecks are generated in oceans, beaches or rivers but not underground.

Can confirm.
It's actually really weird that shipwrecks can generate almost completely embedded in stone; They're ship wrecks, not ship fossils! A fix for this is to make shipwreck parts incapable to generate inside stone and sandstone blocks so that it looks more like the ship crashed into the stone. This change, along with generating shipwrecks level with the land, will make it look more like an actual shipwreck and less like a million year old fossil.

New seed found from MC-141219. I updated the description.
I cannot seem to reproduce this issue in 20w49a using the provided seed and coordinates.
Can anyone still reproduce this bug in the latest development version? If so, please comment the seed and coordinates where this happen.

I was able to reproduce. I've updates the seed and coords

Can confirm in 1.17, the coordinates provided do not work, but I found a shipwreck in the same seed:
Seed: -3598520511160205857
Coordinates: /execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s 6.14 69.00 296.38 -558.00 32.70

Can confirm in 1.17.1.

Some ships can be partially buried.
