[MC-13880] Cows eat buckets. Seems unhealthy.

This is only for single buckets. I was trying to make a cake, I had three buckets and only ended up with two buckets of milk. The last one disappeared.

Take it this has not been resolved yet, as my milk buckets are still disappearing. But thanks for the comments, I'll just use several and still get what I need.

yeah i have the same problem. i have snapshot 13w19a i think. but like Alyssa said, you can milk with a stack of buckets, but not one by itself. this only happens in survival, and will work fine in creative. im kinda upset about this problem...

In snapshot 13w17a it works, not sure why it says that it's affected.

nope news flash guys... it works fine in 1.5.2. it might be the new launcher... cause they prob had to re code everything. the new launcher started in like 13w16a or 13w17a, and when i checked, it started in 13w16a, when the new launcher was released

It is not the launcher; I used the "dev" launcher set to 1.5.2, as well as the "default" launcher for build 1.5.2 and was able to fill buckets with milk without an issue. However, any snapshot build after 1.5.2 (using the dev launcher, naturally) results in a loss of a bucket.
I have only tried with a single bucket, not stacked buckets.

If you have a single bucket, and milked a cow it deleted the bucket, BUT with a stack of 2+ it works...

so to milk cows, just get a stack of 2 or more buckets and your good!

It would be nice to see this bug removed, I can't imagine it is too difficult. The only work-around is to make at least 2 buckets and stack them, and when you right-click on a cow one of the buckets will fill with milk, leave the stack, and show up in a new inventory slot - assuming one is available. I'm not sure what would happen if your inventory was full, I did not test that scenario. But I agree, losing 3 iron when you forget to stack buckets to get milk is a real annoyance.

As aidan pallian mentioned some time ago, this only happens with single buckets. When using a stack of buckets, getting milk works fine. Maybe someone (mike kosin or any mod) should add this information to the bug's description, it could be important.
