I live in a Village in the test world and something strange I saw, was when I put a lantern on a Villager house, 1-2 Villagers instantly run on to it and don't move. AT ALL !
Not in the night.. not in a Pillager/Zombie attack. You can still interact with them but they just feel Attracted to the light from the Lantern, this is where the MOTH villager nickname takes place.

I remember making a small planting farm and having these lamps hung there and when a zombie tries to pathfind around to me it seems to get stuck or "attatched" to it, unable to get to me even when I'm 5 blocks near it. Maybe you're getting the same thing with villagers since pathfinding is kinda broken with lamps.
