After i read that deserts were made more "deserty", i wanted to check it out and i think this weird water generation is not intended. I made 3 worlds and i found these weird water pools in the 3 deserts.

I thought they removed the lakes?
They did, or at least tried to make them less common. I think they were trying to get rid of the small pools of water which are often in the side of a dune.
I tested this and the closest i could find was a single pond, different sizes, that occasionally appeared.
20.34.42.png is the largest I found.
I can confirm this bug!
had it too!
it still concerns the pre release of 1.6
Confirmed.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

No answer within reasonable time, also this has been fixed for the regular deserts, maybe still applies to Desert M (would need testing), but as far as I can see, this is intentional.
I still find those in regular deserts but it works as intended, I think. They are not lakes, but just land generated under a certain y value, and under that value, any air block which is not part of a cave/ravine/other generated structure turns into water.
