The bug
With 1.14 Hebrew letters have been added to the Minecraft font. However, most (if not all) letters seem to have been assigned to the incorrect texture. For instance, the letter א (Alef) is assigned to the texture that belogs to the letter ח (Het).

Fix
Download the attached resource pack, put it into your resource packs folder, and enable it. That should fix this issue.
Workaround
You can work around this issue by enabling the Unicode font by clicking on the left button at the bottom of the language menu.
Original description
Every time you type in Hebrew it switches the keys that you wrote. For example:
That's that would happen in English: If you type the letter Y it would write O instead.

Im using an amharic keyboard.

Sounds like MC-121278
I have the same issue
This is terrible. Please fix it!
You fixed the font but now the problem is insanely horrible... Using Hebrew in 1.14 is impossible!
In 1.13 it was alright but than came 1.14 and everything got massed up. The font of the words isn't matching and if you type a letter you get different letter. Please fix all of this quickly, like it was on 1.13.
Hey everybody, I attached a resource pack I just threw together. If you use it, the font should (mostly) be fixed. I'm not too familiar with Hebrew though, so maybe one or two letters might still be switched. However, it should be readable.
Some letters aren't included in the new font set, however that is a separate issue and not related to them being mixed up.
I've edited this ticket to better explain in detail what the issue is and how it can be circumvented.
Thank you, Very cool
Confirmed in 1.14.1pre1
And 1.14.1 pre2
Issue still exist in 1.14.1
Confirmed for 1.14.2pre1
The issue is not resolved in any version
The issue is still not resolved as there are some letters still not correct.
If you're still playing 1.14.1, the fix will not have arrived yet. You'll either need to wait until 1.14.2 is released (presumably next week) or use the fix resource pack attached to this ticket.
If you're experiencing this in 1.14.2-pre2, could you tell us which letters are still incorrect? I just checked it in the game and from my limited understanding of Hebrew it looks like the issue has been fixed in 1.14.2-pre2.
As far as I can tell, this issue is fixed in 1.14.1pre2. However do note that U+05DA (final kaf) is not assigned a Minecraft font texture.
The letter כ and the letter ב Looks the same.
Also the letter ר and ד.
It's a texture issue now, the letters are in the correct order but the design is incorrect.
Oh, and the letter ך is in a different font which looks awful.
If you look closely, ב and כ are in fact different, though they differ only by one pixel. Same with ד and ר. If this is a problem, it is definitely a different issue.
ך not having a texture is indeed an issue, though I believe it falls under MC-150501.
Also the bold version of the letters are really hard to read but most importantly, the letters ס and ט look the same.
With regards to the bold text, ט and ס do look different, however they are easily confused. However I find that Minecraft bolded text is hard to read in general, and I'm also not sure if the bold textures are stored separately or if there's a "bolding algorithm" applied.
In english, m and n, along with u and w, are similarly confusing in bold text.
You can use the following commands to test bold text:
/tellraw @p ["",{"text":"אבגדהוזחטיכלמנסעפצקרשתךםןץף","bold":true}]
/tellraw @p ["",{"text":"abcdefghikjlmnopqrstuvwxyz","bold":true}]
If you have any issues with the current font, please create a new ticket. I think the textures are assigned properly, it's now just a matter of how readable the characters are.
