Hebrew letters aren't assigned to their correct textures

The bug

With 1.14 Hebrew letters have been added to the Minecraft font. However, most (if not all) letters seem to have been assigned to the incorrect texture. For instance, the letter א (Alef) is assigned to the texture that belogs to the letter ח (Het).

To reproduce

  1. Paste

    מיינקראפט

into the chat ("Minecraft" in Hebrew according to the Hebrew wikipedia)

  2. Compare what's been written into the game to what you just copied from here

  3. ❌ The letters don't match

Fix

Download the attached resource pack, put it into your resource packs folder, and enable it. That should fix this issue.

Workaround

You can work around this issue by enabling the Unicode font by clicking on the left button at the bottom of the language menu.

Original description

Every time you type in Hebrew it switches the keys that you wrote. For example:

That's that would happen in English: If you type the letter Y it would write O instead.

The letter כ and the letter ב Looks the same.

Also the letter ר and ד.

It's a texture issue now, the letters are in the correct order but the design is incorrect.

Oh, and the letter ך is in a different font which looks awful.

If you look closely, ב and כ are in fact different, though they differ only by one pixel. Same with ד and ר. If this is a problem, it is definitely a different issue.

ך not having a texture is indeed an issue, though I believe it falls under MC-150501.

Also the bold version of the letters are really hard to read but most importantly, the letters ס and ט look the same.

Ely G

With regards to the bold text, ט and ס do look different, however they are easily confused. However I find that Minecraft bolded text is hard to read in general, and I'm also not sure if the bold textures are stored separately or if there's a "bolding algorithm" applied.

In english, m and n, along with u and w, are similarly confusing in bold text.

You can use the following commands to test bold text:

/tellraw @p ["",{"text":"אבגדהוזחטיכלמנסעפצקרשתךםןץף","bold":true}]
/tellraw @p ["",{"text":"abcdefghikjlmnopqrstuvwxyz","bold":true}]

If you have any issues with the current font, please create a new ticket. I think the textures are assigned properly, it's now just a matter of how readable the characters are.
