Mob AI seems to freeze in entire chunks following extreme lag – mobs outside the affected chunk move and act perfectly normally at the same time but as soon as they step into it they stop moving and are unable to be pushed. Seems to happen most frequently when traveling and loading new chunks, and can last for 1 to 8 minutes as far as I've seen.

Saw something that could be another instance of this bug when leaving a Pillager tower on a server with a high spawn rate, where 5 pillagers spawned behind me but... didn't react aside from turning towards me, so it was clear they were targeting me, but couldn't act in response. No firing of crossbows or movement.
MC-153618 is a duplicate of this issue which seems to be very detailed and contains some steps to reproduce.

Confirmed 21w07a, happened to a chunk not far from my home following a large amount of server tick lag.

Can confirm in 1.18 Pre-release 1. I experienced a pillager that stayed perfectly in place for nearly two minutes, and I made sure that I was not on spectator mode.

Can confirm in 1.18.1. Experienced this on our server, all ENTITIES including items etc. entering/spawned in the chunk froze completely. They couldn't be moved, damaged or interacted with at all. Restarting the server fixed the issue.
