The bug
If you jump on a boat inside water for a while and then jump on the ground you will take fall damage depending on how long you were jumping.
How to reproduce
Place a boat in water near land
Hold down space on a boat for 3+ jumps
Jump from boat on land
→ ❌ You will take fall damage and can even die from it

+1. This also happened to my villager which was in boat and my friend started jump on it. The boat has teleported and villager just died.

I experienced while fishing in a pool by boat, and the times needed to jumps is random, even get hurts if you just drop on the boat.

This bug just killed me in my hardcore world, jumping onto land is not nececary, just jumping for a while and then standin still on the boat also does it. Im really frustrated as this is not how you want to die in a hardcore world, spent hundreds of hours on.

I believe the fix for this bug has introduced MC-171969. That bug has debuted in 1.15 pre-release 5 and the fix for this bug may have caused that bug.
