Drowned with tridents still attack the player during daytime even if they are out of water

During the daytime, drowned will only target the player when in water. When you exit water and surface onto dry land, the drowned mob will stop attacking/targeting you. However, if a drowned is holding a trident, when the player exits the water, the drowned will continue to attack and pursue the player even though it is daytime. Possibly works as intended.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Summon a drowned holding a trident and a drowned without one in water. Make sure that it is daytime.

    /summon drowned ~ ~ ~ {HandItems:[{id:"minecraft:trident",count:1},{}]}
    /summon drowned ~ ~ ~
  • Enter the water in survival mode and note how both drowned will target you

  • Exit the water and note how the drowned without a trident will not target the player anymore while the one with the trident will continually attack the player.

I meant are you just talking about drowneds attacking players in creative for this report.

the drowned without tridents stop following the player when the player steps on land, as they should.

Confirmed in 1.14.3 as of 1.14.3 changelogs as well as changelogs for 1.14.3-pre1 through 1.14.3-pre4

Confirm in 1.14.4 : Drowned mob doesn't aggro the player when the player is on land during daytime (even if the area if protected from sunlight). It doesn't matter if the Drowned is in water or on land. However, if the drowned have a trident AND is in water he will start chasing the player (and keep chasing outside of the water).

 

Drowned with and without trident spawn in water. Step into water and they become hostile. Step out, and only without tridents pacify. Tridents still attack. Daytime only, as nighttime both with and without stay hostile. Yes?

Affects 1.21.2-pre5. Also would like to request ownership to maintain the report/edit the description and title.
