my cousin was playing and lava is going super fast which is very weird

Mind to update the title/description of MC-16149 because it does NOT only affect lava animations.
The game doesn't recognize the properties files of animations in general. Happens with texturepacks too.

Ok, but this "relates to" stuff is a bit superfluous here (it's one and the same bug and MC-16142 is a more general description of it ... Lava is just one of several animations not working properly). I would close all lava tickets in this case (MC-16149, ...).
