Baby piglins never grow up

The bug

Baby piglins never become adults. This might be intentional, as piglins (like zombies and zombie pigmen/zombified piglins) use the IsBaby tag instead of Age in order to determine whether a mob is a baby or not. <----- its not cuz only undead mobs never grow up

the only thing I see this to be intentionel is that its because time in the nether seems faster

To reproduce

  1. Spawn a baby piglin

  2. Wait for 20 minutes (two ingame days)
    → ❌ The piglin doesn't grow up.

Baby hoglins also never grow up, making breeding farms unusable ATM

Pretty sure that that's intentional, baby zombies also don't grow up.

@unknown, I cannot confirm that. Hoglins grow up after 20 minutes for me.

Pretty sure that's an intentional feature too.

NAH I THINK NOT like you see only undead mobs never grow up so hmmm yeah its not

Really confused as to why this is “intentional”. It makes sense that Baby Zombie Pigmen don’t grow up as they are Zombies and thus, undead. But Piglins are not undead, Piglins are living creatures. What about them inhibits them from growing up, and how are adult Piglins a thing if Baby Piglins never grow up?

The resolution of this ticket is "Works as Intended", and as such this is not a bug but intentional. Baby piglins are supposed to never grow up.

WHY is this WAI? I’m so confused by this really stupid decision. Piglins are living creatures, so why don’t baby Piglins grow up?

They don't breed, so if they grew up there would just be adults.

Rasmus, how are there baby Piglins if they don’t breed?

Using a "behavior pack" for this bypasses this situation. The affiliated behavior pack that was supposed to bypass this situation is named "Breedable Mobs Add-On".
