Empty slot textures for leggings and boots use the old texture designs.

Grab a pair of leggings or boots and open up your inventory.
Hold the item next to the according empty slot and compare they way they both look.

The old texture design is used.

The new texture design would be used.

They said that NOT every texture is going to be changed. exapmle: Creeper and (I guess) all of UI textures

Made this report to be only about the armor icons, since we are already tracking the bottle outline in MC-150784

Removed the mention of the crafting recipe button, as that's been fixed, and also was tracked in a separate issue (MC-165686). (edit: also MC-165979)
