This bug also affects copper golem mechanics as a side effect. Because copper golems tend to look through chests when they don’t need to, but are unable to open blocked chests, it’d be useful to use comparators and sticky pistons to control which chests golems will interact with based on the chest contents. This bug makes doing such a thing pretty much impossible, though.

Redstone repeaters, comparators and levers used to have wood sounds, and now have stone sounds.
All of these changes were treated as bugfixes.

In other words, if a block has sound effects that don’t make sense for the material it’s made of, it’s a bug.
That being said, I would be okay with them only changing anvils, cauldrons and hoppers, because they are the ones that make the most sense. It’s up to them though.
