The bug
When trying to enter an end gateway by using an ender pearl, the player will only be teleported a few blocks next to the original gateway. The player will however be teleported correctly when entering the gateway by crawling or flying.

yes, FINALLY its fixed! i died in hardcore because of this. had to reset my position.

in 1.20.1 i had the same problem on a server, but wasn't able to redo it on single player.

Just use a trapdoor to get in laying position, then literally enter the portal
