Soul Speed 3 on Soul Soil in water keeps and increases player momentum

The bug

Enchanting any boots with Soul Speed III, wearing them and moving on Soul Soil in 1 high water source blocks will retain the player's momentum when the key is no longer pressed, and keep increasing the momentum until either

  1. The momentum is stopped by an obstruction/missing water or soul soil.

  2. The momentum is stopped due to chunks not loading fast enough.

  3. The server instance crashes.

  4. The player logs out and back in.

It doesn't work with lava on soul soil, or Soul Speed enchanted boots with level lesser than 3.

This has been reproduced by several players in both multiplayer and singleplayer environments.

How to reproduce

Have Soul Speed III enchanted boots equipped in 1 high water source blocks on soul soil. Tap and release any movement key.

also swimming in 1-block shallow water on soulsoil with soul speed boots is insanely fast.

I tested this out, and I can confirm it. I can also add, that if you have the enchantment, sprint across soul soil with flowing water on top to push you along, and KEEP pushing forward, you can go pretty fast. So fast in fact, that I was flung into my Nether portal from 9 blocks away, with a block at my feet to stop me! I went from block 10, from the portal, to into the portal.

Could not reproduce any of the server crashing effects. The player can definitely outrun the render distance, but then they just stop instead of crashing/freezing the server.

I am not getting blocked. I don't get crashing effects either. You can travel 2,000 blocks in less than 15 seconds with this glitch, but when you do you lag out the chunk loading system and you go faster than the chunks can load.
