Striders cannot pathfind between lava and bottom slabs

Striders have trouble pathfinding between bottom slabs and lava, despite them being lower than full blocks at the same Y level as the lava, which they can pathfind onto without issue.

If you make a pen of bottom slabs around some lava sources and place a strider in it, it will be unable to leave on its own, though it can be pushed or ridden out.

For the bottom slabs: Every mob can't pathfind over bottom slabs that don't have a Solid block below it.

i would say it works as intended, if they could we would have an inconsistency issue, on the other hand its probably worth taking a look at all mobs being able to pathfind in said situation

The presence or absence of solid blocks beneath the slabs doesn't appear to change anything. Put solid blocks underneath the half slabs and striders still can't pathfind onto or over them.

Remember that they only have a small chance of pathfinding, so it could take hours for them to pathfind to one of those 14 blocks, and they have limited range, so placing more won't always help

This issue appears to be resolved as of 1.16 pre-release 5. The striders move unusually slowly over the slabs, but do cross them.

The issue seems to be resolved in 20w48a. They move extremely slow but are willing to cross the slabs to come closer to the player.

Marking as CR for now as the exact version where this bug has been fixed is unknown.
