/locate biome can cause large amounts of server lag if the specified biome is very rare or non-existant

The bug

When the /locate biome command is used on a biome like the modified jungle edge (in my world with seed -2212060853571448367, for example, but for most other seeds as well) where that biome is nonexistent for at least many thousands of blocks, the command will cause significant amounts of server lag.

To reproduce

  1. Create a world with seed -2212060853571448367

  2. /locate biome minecraft:mushroom_fields
→ ❌ Notice that blocks don't drop and the game doesn't react

This and MC-250276 are actually the same issue. Considering that one has higher priority and goes deeper into the issue (as well as having affected versions up to date), I'd suggest making that one the main report.

clamlol

I agree, this and MC-206327 should be resolved as duplicates of MC-250276.

Avoma

I'm going to resolve this as a duplicate of MC-250276 since MC-250276 has a higher priority, more information, and more issue links since this is indeed the same issue.
