I generated a new survival world in 1.16.2 pre-1 and the chest minecarts do not generate inside of abandoned mineshafts. If this is a change made on purpose, I am not aware, otherwise I did want to make the team aware, as you miss out on that sweet minecart loot if you find a mineshaft in this version.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this issue.
If you run the command /tp @s @e[type=chest_minecart,limit=1]
(which will teleport you to any chest minecart if one is present), is it successful, or does it say 'No entity was found'?
I am also having this problem in 1.16.1 and 1.16.3. I created a new world to try to resolve this.

Running Java on MAC OS 10.14 using MultiMC launcher. Problem occurred in two separate worlds on two separate servers, 1.16.1 and 1.16.3 respectively.
Both are Minehut servers. Could the error be caused by Minehut or Bukkit?
This issue was reported on Aug 4, I confirmed I also have it on a newer version on Sept 24, and yesterday another person confirmed on presumably the newest version.
It is now Oct 10. This issue is over two months old and spans multiple updates. Srsly.
I can't provide a seed but I can provide an update: the carts are present when the game is launched but are then despawned the way entities thar have not been interacted with despawn. I am on a new seed that doesn't seem to have despawned them (yet) but I will share it if they disappear.
Does this issue still occur in the latest release (1.20.4) or snapshot (24w03b)? If so please provide a screenshot of an affected mineshaft with F3 open, render distance set to 12 or greater, and the results of that command visible in chat. (Use spectator mode and give yourself night vision to make the mineshaft visible.)
