The bug
Z-fighting occurs when a boat is touching an adjacent block that's around 0.1875 taller than it, causing the block to barely overlap with the inside of the boat.
Examples of such blocks include:
Carpets
Snow layers
Beds
Pink petals
To reproduce
Place some trapdoors on the ground
Place a boat and ride it against the trapdoors

This is not a duplicate of MC-93080. The grass path is a little bit shorter, therefore I couldn't get onto the grass block. This ticket is about Z-fighting, not that it sinks.
